ASHLAND COUNTY DEMOCRATS                                       Tuesday June 9...Central Committee Meeting
6:30 – 7:30…I.A.M Hall, 630 Grove Hall…these meetings are open to any Democrats.     

 AUGUST OX ROAST. At last month’s meeting we discussed moving the Ox Roast to August and having a picnic instead of a dinner. The picnic would be a causal potluck event and provide an opportunity to meet candidates and welcome new Democrats. We discussed having various games and raffles. This would be no charge event, donation only. The City has pavilions for $50 rent at the Brookside Parks, from 11:00 to 4:00 or from 4:00 to 8:00. We need to decide this at Tuesday’s meeting and begin finalizing plans.     

 GOVERNOR’S NORTHERN OHIO BALL. Saturday August 15^th, 6:00 to 8:00, at the Mohican Lodge Resort. Governor Strickland is having similar events at other state parks, each to cover various counties in the area. It would be great to have a good turn-out from Ashland County as we will have Ted here in our back-yard. Tickets are $100.00 per person, $500.00 for Event Sponsors. Perhaps the Ashland County Democratic Party could sponsor an event. Attached is a flyer.

 OHIO DEMOCRATIC PARTY’S ANNUAL STATE DINNER, Saturday June 27 at the State Fairgrounds in Columbus. Tickets are $150.00. For more information call 614-341-6911 or rsvp@ohiodems.org.

 Wendy South has been elected to replace Roberta Farley as Secretary. Though Roberta remains on the Central Committee, we have an opening on the Executive Committee. Also, various precincts don’t have Central Committee members…we would like to fill these spots with Democrats who would be active.

As you know, postage has gone up again. It doesn’t make sense for the county party to incur the cost of postage, envelopes, and paper if we can accomplish the same electronically. Please send your e-mail address to Wendy. If you don’t have e-mail or insist upon a mailed copy, please so advise Wendy. Please respond asap but no later than August 15. Also, we would also like to update our files with your phone number…many people now prefer we use their cell numbers rather than land lines.
